FPG's Letters to A. L. Phelps

13. 1923:
Matlock, Man.    August 10, 1923

Dear Mr. Phelps,

Just a line to let you know that we intend breaking camp on Aug. 17. By Aug. 27 or so we shall be back at Rapid City .

I might say that I have finished the first revision of Pioneers, Pt I, and am quite a piece into Pt II. By Christmas I should have Pt I in a shape that might be considered almost final. I shall let you have the remaining chapters of Pt I as soon as I get this revision typed.

If things don't go too badly with me, this coming school year should see the completion of the whole three parts. Après quoi - le deluge: death or what not will find me ready.

I'm soon to say I am not well: almost unable to move without help: but still full of vitality.

Best regards - to Mrs. Phelps and yourself,

F.P. Grove
