FPG's Letters to A. L. Phelps

77. 1925:
Rapid City, Man.    December 28, 1925

Dear Phelps,

This came to me to-day when I had, for the first time in 2 weeks, returned to my desk, to read over certain parts of the "Daily Bread". So you've done it? Well, thanks. It's a charge de revanche, some future day. I wished very much to be able to make a Christmas present to Mrs. Phelps. But I could not think of anything within my "buying ability" except something old from my own little stock, and that would have looked too paltry. So it's a deferred asset as they say in financial quarters.

By the way, I hope you did not send me the only copy of your Saturday Night Review - for that packet of 10 copies, sent by Russell, Liang & Co. did arrive, after all. If you want any of them, let me know, please. I have half a dozen more than I need. How is the jaw?

This is just to let you know.

Yours,
F.P.G.

A "prosperous" New Year" to you 3!
