FPG's Letters to A. L. Phelps

109. 1926:
Rapid City, Man.    November 17, 1926

Dear A.L.P.,

Am hard at work, Mrs. G. helping, to cut down the search to 100 000 words. Mrs. G. can't find another Ms., though I know there is one somewhere. Can you let me have yours in a hurry? I am to finish the work by Dec 15. Some job. But have no definite contract yet, though I am determined not to let things strand on inessentials. (I want a black back and burnt-orange side - covers for the binding.) I shall not cut your Ms. up. It will be the only one of that redaction left, it seems.

I have not yet stood on my feet, but I believe I am making some progress though it is slow.

Yours, As ever,
F.P.G.

Deacon makes me laugh. "Don't tell Phelps" or anyone else, for that matter. He merely mentions you because he knows our relationship.
