FPG's Letters to A. L. Phelps

Dear A.L.P.,

Just a line to say that the Search is at last being set up. The work is proceeding at a snail's pace. In my opinion the book should be out now. However, I am not going to kick. Miller has a cover design which is a burn out. But he seems very proud of it.

Since I have so much to kick about at the start, I hope the end will be much better.

I am making some progress at last in recovery - though I am weak and full of pains.

I've given the Tribune a short story called "Lazybones" which I think is among the best writing I've ever done. I don't think you know it? I wonder whether they'll print it.

Why don't we hear anything of you? I hope you are not ill?

Yours,
F.P.G.
