Dear A.L.P.,

We are most anxious to know how Mrs. P. is. Please let us know. Since we found the road from Portage to Poplar point in places bottomless and did not get to Winnipeg till after 7 p.m., we were glad to think that you had taken the train in spite of the fact that thus, part of the way, there was nobody in the back seat of our car.

We, at least I - find the unrelieved monotony of this prairie congenial. We shall stay a few days. Beyond that I have no plans, except that we want to get home by Aug 5, the day when May would have been12 years old.

This is, of course, just a line. You understand.

This P.S. is written at the P.O. where I found and read your letter. Yes, we've stayed overnight at Morris.

We'll be in, the, end of this or beginning of next week, feeling much reassured as to Mrs. P.

The suggestion re Ontario hardly appeals to us; but we thank you for making it. We want to get back home.

The day of our coming will depend on the weather, partly. But I don't suppose it makes much difference to you whether you know it beforehand or not. So we'll leave that open.
