It was Bd.1 of the original Insel Publishers' 1908-1911 Balzac ed. in 16 v. -- This "Deutsche Ausgabe in zehn Bänden" follows a very different content arrangement than the orig. ed. -- Bound in orig. green linen, with "HdeB" gold monogram letters on cover. -- Relatively little ornate spine, with a black title label reading "Honoré / de Balzac / Novellen II" at the top, and NO vol. designation in a usually black, gold-fringed circle near the bottom. -- Here the CONTENTS of the 1923-1925 ed. in 10 vols, of which the present book is the 3rd volume.: Bd. 1.
