Bound in grey cardboard, with parchment spine.

Inside cover has a label reading "Ex Libris Dehmel".

Unlike the 1920 copy in the Rare Book Room (RBR), this 1905 edition contains 3 pages of "Vorbemerkung" signed "F.P.G.". This preface explains that Greve selected and adapted one half of the orig. English correspondence to reveal the romantic aspects in the relationship of the famous couple. This method of selection, Greve compares to that of the "Pointillisten in der Malerei."
