Comet Lovejoy's Tail & Dada-like Needle

StarryN

Comment:
While working on my budding Freytag-:Loringhoven-related project "From 1900 Dachau to 1917 New York Dada,"
I chanced upon Fritz Helmut Hemmerich's Astro-Pic of Comet Lovejoy's closest approach to Earth on April 23, 2017 (L).
Comparing the comet's rather fuzzy tail to the ultra-sharp depiction of a needle's eye (R), he had - likely unwittingly - created
one of those visual Dada puns based on "found objects."
A good exam, ple for this is Else von Freytag-Loringhoven's sculpture of a "ready-made" plumning piece,
which she irreverently titled "GOD." She created it in 1917 within the context of the short-lived NY dada movement..
