    vii, 527 p. ; 18 cm.
SERIES: The works of George Meredith
NOTES: The presence of this title among Grove's books is of particular interest for FPG studies. Felix Paul Greve claimed to have translated this novel in 1904 as his first Meredith translation for Bruns Publishers. Three other works are attested instead for 1904/5 (Richmond, Feverel; Diana), and the corresponding English texts all were extant in Grove's Library. A later ed. entitled Beauchamps Laufbahn (without reference to the translator) has been found in German imprint tools.--Though this text shows no traces of annotations, Grove reread and commented on it in January, 1946 (GrC, 487), and his lost novel Felix Powell's Career [ca. 1940] not only transparently imitated the title's structure, but also incorporated of Greve's given names "Felix Paul."

It was translated as Diana vom Kreuzweg by Felix Paul Greve in 1905 (Bruns, 2 v. (xv, 592 p.).

P. Grove as Editor in the letterhead, was inserted between p. 22-23. See also below, Plato, Socratic Discourses by Plato and Xenophon, for a fragment of Ariston stationary. Grove's involvement with this short-lived subsidiary of H. Miller's Graphic Publishers around 1930 is little documented.
